postheadericonPDFToolBox - Watermark a document

Create visual watermark on a PDF document.

Watermark screen

Select input and output PDF file with the "Select input PDF file" and the "Select output PDF file" buttons. The input file should be the document you would like to watermark and the ouput will be the result document.

Enter the text you would like to add to the document in the "Text" field.

Enter the font size you would like to use in the "Font size" field.

Select the color by clicking on the "Font color" field, where you can see the actual color.

Select the text placement by selecting or unselecting the "Over the original text" checkbox.

If you don't select this option, it means that you would like to add the text under the current document content. However if the document has such a structure that it covers a lot of its surface (like a lot of pictures, or the document is created by a virtual PDF printer), then placing the text under it means that it won't be visible in every cases or it will be partially visible only.

If you select this option, that means that you would like to add the text over the original content. The added text will be visible in every case, but it will mask the original content, it will cover the pictures and text, sometimes making them unreadable.

Use the "Save as WWF" checkbox if you would like to save the result document in WWF format.

Unfortunately the watermark procedure cannot be used in every cases thanks to the PDF structure. You have to test whether your document can be watermarked using under or over placement.

If the program finds that the PDF file is password protected, it will ask for the password and can not place the watermark until the password is provided.

Please be aware that the new file won't be password protected!

This function is only available in PDFToolBox and PDFWatermark!
